  • As an Authorized Dealer,  we use only authentic, quality BERNINA and HANDIQUILTER parts and accessories.
  • Only Authorized BERNINA Dealers, like us, can service your machine without voiding the warranty. Once an "independent" has opened your BERNINA, even for routine maintenance, your generous BERNINA warranty has been voided. If you have had your BERNINA serviced by an "independent" technician, let us know so we can help. This same information is valid for HANDIQUILTER machines as well.

Q: Why should I bring my sewing machine in for service annually?

Just as a car needs to be serviced and maintained regularly before problems arise, your BERNINA, and many other makes, are finely-built machines that requires regular preventative maintenance and attention.

We recommend bringing your BERNINA sewing machine in at least once a year. If you are an avid sewer, we recommend servicing your machine more often, depending on usage. If you leave your machine sitting for a long period of time (no sewing for a year or longer), all the more reason to bring it in for servicing as gears and parts will need to be checked and/or lubricated.

Machine Service by our BERNINA trained and authorized technician includes:

  • Complete cleaning
  • Complete oiling
  • Adjustment to basic mechanical settings

This professional level of service gives you much more than the recommended self-cleaning we teach in the Machine Mastery Class.

In order to continue the warranty of your machine, you should never go further than was demonstrated in the Machine Mastery Class. You are only authorized to remove the head cover. Our technician will remove all machine covers under properly grounded protocols set by BERNINA.

Q: When should I bring my machine in for service?

You should bring your machine in at least once a year.

How about bringing it on your birthday each year or on the date of purchase? Create a unique date that makes it easy-to-remember your annual need for service to keep you machine in top condition.

Q: What should I bring in with my machine when it is time for service?

Your machine and embroidery module (if you have one) is required for a full check-up.

Also bring:

  • #1 Reverse Foot (foot that has the ability to do a zig-zag if machine capable)
  • Electrical Cord if not a Bernina
  • Foot Control
  • Bobbin
  • Bobbin Case
  • Specific stitched examples of any concerns you have
  • Medium Embroidery hoop (if you have an embroidery machine and it isn't a Bernina)
  • Protective Case/Cover for transporting machine

Bring any other foot needed to check something you want us to look at specifically. For example, if you are having trouble with buttonholes, bring your buttonhole foot. Bernina buttonhole feet are calibrated to your machine, so it is necessary to use the same foot you use at home to successfully test this function.

As another example, if you have questions about your BSR (BERNINA Stitch Regulator), please bring your BSR foot, which may need to be computer-updated.

Q: What should I leave at home?

Our technicians do not need:

  • Accessory box
  • Feet that are not associated with problems you are experiencing
  • Slide-on tray
  • Spools of thread

Kindly keep these items at home since they are not necessary for service or repair.
